Understanding NDIS Plan Management

Understanding NDIS Plan Management

The Basics

What Is NDIS Plan Management?

Plan management is one of four ways you can manage the funding in your NDIS plan. When you choose plan management, TMS Plan & Support Management takes care of the financial and administrative side of your plan — paying invoices, tracking your budget, and keeping clean records — while you keep full choice over which providers you use.

It's the option that gives you flexibility without the paperwork.

The Process

How Plan Management Works

01

Your NDIS plan is approved with plan management funding included. This funding sits in your Support Coordination or Improved Life Choices budget and doesn't reduce your other supports.

02

You choose your providers. Unlike agency management, plan management lets you use both NDIS-registered and unregistered providers, giving you far more choice.

03

Your providers send us their invoices. Once a service is delivered, your provider sends the invoice directly to TMS Plan & Support Management.

04

We check, process and pay. We check each invoice against your plan budget, then process payment to your provider.

05

You get visibility the whole way through. You receive regular reporting so you always know what's been spent, what's left, and where it's going.

Who Can Access Plan Management?

Most NDIS participants can request plan management, regardless of age, disability type or plan complexity. It's often a good fit if you want more choice than agency management allows, but less hands-on admin than self-management requires.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does plan management cost me anything? +

No. Plan management is funded as part of your NDIS plan and doesn't come out of your other support budgets.

Can I use unregistered providers with plan management? +

Yes. This is one of the main advantages of plan management over agency management.

Do I need plan management written into my plan? +

Yes, plan management funding needs to be included in your plan. If it isn't currently included, we can help you request that it be added at your next review.

How is plan management different from support coordination? +

Plan management handles your funding and invoices. Support coordination helps you find and connect with providers and services. Some participants have both, and they work well together.
